-- God, give me one shot and I'll break right through
I am starting to be brand new --
O.A.R., One Shot
Finally in Paris! And its raining and raw...and still beautiful. The lady with whom Scottie and I are living with is so nice. She speaks French to us all day, and oddly enough I feel like I am cheating doing this in English. I'll start at the beginning...
The TGV ride was exciting. It was smoother than a 737. Five hours and three minutes after our departure from Cannes, we pulled into Gare de Lyon. Then came our housing assignments, which up until then had remained a big mystery. Scottie and I anxiously grabbed our white envelope and read the arrondissment: 20th. Hmmm...could be a little closer but lets keep an open mind. Next came a strange phenomenon: we all line up in our pairs for our taxi ride to this address. Pair by pair, we hop in taxis not knowing what was in store for us. As everyone got in, they all looked back to us with mostly baffled and anxious expressions. I think mine was no different. When Scottie and I were next up for a taxi, it felt like we were paratroopers getting waved out of the plane, not knowing what lay ahead.
Since the keyboard is arrangedly differently here, it has taken me about 5 times as long to type this. I look like my father with his two index fingers extended searching for the right key. We have the internet here so I can update more. I've hogged l'ordinateur long enough so I will get bqck to this tomorrow night. Bon nuit.

Sorry, you aren't getting me to forgive the typos.

Damn you, getting to speak so much French. My only shots at really speaking Italian are mostly with thet people on my street whom I've befriended. Damn American program.

Ciao
